PRICING:
How much does a it cost?
Individual prices are subject to vary depending on the market and time of year. You will get the respective estimates upon submission of your Inquiry form. Bridal parties will be charged hourly instead of per head.
Does soft glam cost the same?
Soft or Full makeup looks cost the same price regardless.
Do lashes cost more?
Not if it is the typical lashes provided in the package, or if you want to bring your own lashes. However, sometimes "fancier" lash requests may be subject to a surcharge of $5-10 depending on the brand and set.
When do I have to pay?
The appointment will not be confirmed until 60% of the estimate is paid for. You are welcome to pay it in full the first time if you please.
The other 40% is due the day BEFORE the appointment time.
Do I have to tip?
Minimum tip is already included in your price, but more is always appreciated if you are happy with the look.
What if I bring my own makeup, brushes, or lashes to be applied?
Yes, you are more than welcome to. However, the cost will still be the same.
What is the refund policy?
The 60% booking confirmation payments are not refundable.
However, the 40% may be refunded If you cancel over 24 hours before the appointment start time.
The only circumstance your payment is 100% refunded is if the MUA somehow cannot make it to the appointment anymore.
TIMING AND LOCATIONS:
How long does it take?
Bridal makeup must be allocated a 1 hour and 30 minute window of time.
Others: A minimum of 1 hour must be allocated per head. Each full-face takes 45 minutes on average, the extra time serves as leeway for anticipating delays, changes, or technical difficulties during the process.
What if my distance too far away?
A driving distance of over 30 minutes may be subject to a small travel charge. The distance is typically relative to central or southwest Houston.
Do you travel for makeup?
Yes, absolutely! For any location requested outside of the greater Houston area, all appropriate traveling expenses and accommodations DO need be carried out by the client.
What if I'm running late to start my appointment?
There is a 15 minute grace period for late clients because things happen on event days.
Depending on availability, the MUA may be required to leave after the allotted appointment duration. Therefore, there is a chance that the make-up look may have to reach a stopping point without finishing.
However, provided there is availability for overtime, Meryl can stay longer with an overtime charge of $10 per additional 15 minutes called for.
OTHER:
Do you do hair?
Meryl is NOT a professional hairstylist and typically only offers makeup. It is a common misconception that all makeup artists are hair stylists as well.
HOWEVER, since there are times when it would be convenient to have the MUA do hair too: hair styling that is considered "simple" may be accommodated upon request - depending on comfortability and availability. Heat styling will only be considered if it's just curling and/or straightening with minimal styling (such as leaving it all down, or half-up half-down). Unfortunately, elevated styles such as updo's, braiding, or hair attachments (i.e. veils, clips, buns, flowers) are recommended to be done elsewhere.
Do you know any other vendors?
If you are looking for other vendors than Meryl (such as for hair, photography, sounding, lights, sari draping, floral, etc.), go ahead and mention that in the last box of the inquiry form or DM @mz_artistry on Instagram.
What if I have skin concerns? or allergies?
Just let Meryl know prior to the appointment or in the inquiry form. It's typically no problem.
